Are you looking for support navigating your mental health? Have you been running into challenges within your relationships? Are you struggling to navigate major changes or challenges in your life as it progresses? Maybe you are simply looking to feel better in your life.

I’m here to help.

The challenges life poses can be overwhelming! Sometimes, mental health can interfere with our daily functioning, relationships, school or work, or any number of other areas of life. I understand. I am passionate about helping people gain a greater understanding of themselves in order to identify and implement effective, tailored ways to access greater wellbeing, peace of mind, and fulfillment in life.

How I came to be a therapist:

My roots as a social worker are in interpersonal violence (IPV) response and prevention. IPV is a newer, modern term that refers to domestic violence, sexual violence, and dating violence. Since 2013, I have worked with individuals ages 5+ who have experienced or witnessed IPV. I have worked across many settings and in many roles, including victim-survivor advocacy and case management, clinical therapist, healthy relationships and consent educator, and group therapist. I have worked in many community and institutional settings including shelters, detention centers, non-profit community work, higher education, and private practice.

Training and education:

I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science with a certificate in International Relations from Southern Utah University & my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Utah. I completed internships at Salt Lake County Youth Services, where I provided individual and group therapy to youth ages 12-21, and the Utah Pride Center, where I offered individual, couples, and group therapy to LGBT and/or queer-identified community members.

What will it be like to work with one another?

I see therapy as a living, breathing process of finding balance between acceptance and change that helps us navigate our lives with more peace and ease.

The way I see it, you are the healer of yourself, your own expert in your life, and I am a trained supporter to assist in your process.

I respect the sovereignty of each client in discovering their own answers. My aim and role is to be beside you as you do.

I don’t have your answers or the direct relief to the pain you experience in life, but I will be there to ask the questions that help connect you to the parts of yourself that do.

I won’t tell you who you are or what to do, but I will accept all of who you are without judgement and support you in your therapy process.

No one can heal our wounds for us, but none of us can heal alone.

It is a great honor and privilege of my life to be able to be in this supportive role for others as they walk their paths.

The most essential key in the development of an effective therapeutic relationship is trust. I aim to create an environment where your whole, authentic self can be present and accepted. The relationship I am interested in building with you is one where every part of you, including your whole self, is welcome and accepted in the process.

Throughout our lives, our experiences and relationships have a significant impact on us. Our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behaviors, patterns, relationships, and our perspectives on ourselves, others, and the world are shaped by our experiences.

In therapy you work on developing self-awareness, increasing your understanding of your experience’s impact on you, and learning what this all means for you in the present moment.

Therapy can be a challenging process that brings a lot to the surface, which is why having a trauma-informed therapist to provide support can be such a helpful tool in one’s journey.

Pain and challenges are a part of life. I cannot change that for myself or anyone. I can however, be there to support you along the way.
